84% of all students are affected in some way by sexual assault during collage (RAINN). Despite rising awareness and harsher punishments, many students still feel unsafe walking alone at night or in unknown areas.
UniSAFE is a mobile application that uses location data of registered sex offenders and past sexual assault cases to provide students with safe directions from point A to point B. The app also alerts users when danger is nearby and sends updates to parents and close friends. In addition, students on campus can report and mark locations at which sexual assault has occurred, creating a safety-oriented community on college campuses. UniSAFE’s mission is to help students feel safe and comfortable on college campuses.
